Pet session for... Beeboo!

I went to photograph Beeboo, beloved cat of Connor and Colleen. Beeboo a.k.a. Bella is a super-friend cat who made this very easy. She walked right up to me on the couch for the first picture... boom!

This was taken with the 50mm f/1.4D at f/2.8. I like shooting pets wide open for that effect of the sharp eye rolling off into blurrier fur, but at f/2.8 her nose stayed pretty sharp and the picture came out great! I took plenty more shots, but I don't think anything beat that first shot.

I almost never use ultra-wides for professional work - it makes people like terrible and pets look like something out a circus commercial. But when Beeboo started wriggling around on the carpet, I got close with the 20mm f/2.8D.
