This was a sweet family to photograph in the cold - the Skivingtons got in touch for a Thanksgiving weekend shoot. It was very cold, so we didn't shoot for long, but we took a nice walk around Highland Park in Rochester and got some nice family photos. Highland Park is nice for winter shoots because there are a lot of very different spots in a very small area, so you can get a nice variety of photos without spending an hour outside. We always love including pets in our shoots

The world's most photogenic baby is back. We met Ryan and Stephanie at Beaver Lake Nature Center outside Syracuse, NY. I think this must be Syracuse's version of my beloved Tinker Nature Park... it's a beautiful spot for family pictures. Hazel was awesome as usual. You just point the camera in her general direction, and she squirms into various smiley poses for as long as you want. And even as a guy, I know that poncho is the cutest garment ever worn. Dan and Marisa were one of the first couples we met when we started booking weddings, and after not hearing from them for a while we were sure they'd slipped through our fingers... our marriage dissolved into a bitter blame game: who had messed this up? Another engagement shoot for one of next year's weddings - this is Cathy and Rendell at Tinker Nature Park in Henrietta. I've never seen a height difference like this before... he is at least eighteen inches taller, and it was lots of fun trying to be creative with poses that didn't leave Cathy caught off at the bottom of the frame. This is a beautiful little family, and we can't wait for the wedding next summer!

This was new for Bemont Photo - Tereasa Payne is a renown world floutist, and we got to cover her performance with the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra at Hochstein. This was such a fun performance and it was a blast trying my hand at concert photography. It certainly gave my Nikon d750s a high-ISO workout as the hall wasn't very well-lit. In addition to my usual Nikon 58mm 1.4G and 105mm 1.4E lenses, I used the 35mm f/1.8G for some wider shots and the Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 G

We met Nate and Allysa out at Akron Falls Park... we had some great fall colors to work with. We always like to do an engagement session for our future wedding couples, so we get a chance to know each other and get comfortable ahead of their wedding. As usual for engagement shoots, I used the Nikon 58mm f/1.4G and 105mm f/1.4E lenses. I think they're the perfect combo for close-ups with the 58mm and longer shots with the 105.
