Our Finger Lakes weddings have taken us to Wren’s Roost in Naples, Sinclair of Skaneateles, Club 86 in Geneva, Mandana Barn, Silver Queen, Keuka Lake Yacht Club, and a healthy number of private properties whose names would not help you.
Finger Lakes venues come with plenty of scenery, which makes restraint more important—not less. We’ll use the lake, vineyard, field, or old stone building when the light is right, then stop collecting postcard portraits and get you back to the wedding.
Weather and light can change quickly around the lakes. We keep portrait plans flexible, make good use of whichever version of the landscape shows up, and have no emotional investment in forcing a plan that stopped making sense.
The landscape gets a few photographs. The people get the rest.
